About the Editor
Hi, my name is Raymond Harper, the editor of this site. I
am from the UK, am 56 years old and am presently enjoying
the Mediterranean lifestyle in Cyprus.

Before I go any further I
must
apologise about the photo. No I was not suffering from
acid
reflux
during the taking of
the
photo. It is a passport photo and I was not supposed to smile
on it!
I
worked in the oil industry for 30 years and had
been thinking for some time that I would like
to have a change of profession. I had a lot of ideas
but after some long and drawn out thought processes I
decided I would like to learn to build web sites. This is
my first site and the reason I chose Acid Reflux Disease as the subject is
because I am a sufferer of acid reflux, brought upon by a
hiatal hernia, or so the doctors tell me. Therefore I
have a vested interest in anything to do with heartburn
and acid reflux disease.
I
have had this problem for quite a while now and was
happily taking my acid reflux medicine
which seemed to keep everything in check. However after
leaving the Middle East where I had been working I had a
check up with a doctor in the UK. He told me I had been
on a high dose of acid reflux medication (20mg) for too
long and that I should only be on a maintenance dose of
10 mg. He promptly cut my dose, whereby ever since my
life has been hell. This dose is not enough for me to
enjoy life fully, so I decided to search for alternatives
to ease the heartburn pain. During my research I also
decided to create this website so that the information I
have acquired can be for everyone.
I
have also started a blog about my thoughts on the subject
and to document what progress I make. This can be seen at
http://acidrefluxhealth.blogspot.com/
if anyone is interested.
Hopefully
this site will give all the information you could need on
acid reflux and how to
combat this disease.
Thanks
for your time,
Raymond
